The Swedish Ambassador to Nigeria, Annika Hahn-Englund, has hinted at a partnership with a Nigerian firm, UBACLE Group, to boost Nigeria’s solid minerals.

According to a statement on Saturday, Hahn-Englund, who attended the just-concluded Nigeria Oil and Gas Conference in Abuja, where she visited the company’s booth, commended the company’s effort on renewable energy in Nigeria.

The firm also participated at the conference where it unveiled its solar panels in the drive for the adoption of renewable energy in Nigeria.

The statement noted that while speaking during her visit to the conference, Hahn-Englund said, “UBACLE Group is on the right path and we look forward to a partnership.”

She applauded the company’s resilience and called on stakeholders in the energy sector to key into the company’s effort. She also promised to partner with the firm on solid minerals.

In June 2024, the CEO, Uba Michael visited the Ambassador to discuss a possible partnership between Sweden and the firm.

He noted that the Ambassador’s visit was a morale booster that came at the right time.

“The Ambassador is someone I’ve become close to because I visited her earlier to inform her on what we are doing and she said her country was thinking in the same direction.

“As she stated, we are heavily in the drive for the adoption of renewable energy. We know the damage fossil fuel has caused, so renewable energy is the now and the future.

“In reiterating her call, we are asking stakeholders which include the federal and state governments to key into this in the form of investments and partnerships and it is another way of driving economic growth”, Michael said.
